Why a portal?

The Brigg Website has been developed in order to promote Brigg and the hinterland to the widest possible audience.

Who was involved?

The Market Town Initiative Commerce and Tourism Committee was tasked with providing a vehicle to promote all aspects of business and tourism in the area. The portal provides the business community and the social and voluntary communities to promote their activities in a structured environment. We, the MTI committee, are committed to the development of a vibrant and interesting site, which will provide information about local activities and events as well as opportunities to sample the local hospitality. All Committee members are volunteers who live locally and / or have a specific interest in the promotion and development of the area. The local authority was initially instrumental in the application for funding and has supported the project proposals as they have been developed.

Where has the money come from?

Funding for the development has been obtained from the Yorkshire Forward Market Town Initiative Fund and through private sector subscriptions, and volunteers who have generously given their time and effort have done most of the foundation work.
